In a medium pot, heat oil to around 350-375F. While the oil is heating Add dry ingredients to a large bowl and whisk together.
Stir in egg and buttermilk until smooth. Pour some of the batter into a cup
Stick a toothpick into the bottom of your little smokie then dip into batter in the cup until covered. Carefully place into the pot of oil until golden brown. Repeat until all your little smokies are cooked.
Place little smokie corn dogs on a wire rack until cool. Serve with your favorite condiments and enjoy!
